Michelle M. Wade, Partner
 Michelle Wade is an attorney who handles complex aviation transactions, including aircraft financing and leasing transactions, for international, national, and local companies. She is a partner in the law firm of Jackson, Wade & Blanck, L.L.C. in Shawnee, Kansas and practices primarily in the area of aviation law. Before joining Jackson, Wade & Blanck, Ms. Wade practiced with the international law firm of Bryan Cave, L.L.P. where she represented lenders and borrowers in complex financial transactions involving a variety of collateral.
Ms. Wade is admitted to practice law in District of Columbia, Kansas and Missouri and counsels clients from coast to coast and internationally on aircraft issues relating to acquisition, leasing, operations, registration and financing. She also counsels clients on federal tax issues relating to aviation, including federal excise tax issues as well as state sales and use tax matters.
Her practice includes handling joint ownership structures, fractional ownership, leasing and interchange arrangements as well as like-kind exchanges. She has negotiated contracts for clients purchasing new aircraft, previously owned aircraft, interior completions and refurbishments and undivided interests in aircraft under fractional programs such as NetJets and Flight Options. She has also negotiated special charter flight agreements and other aviation related agreements.
She also handles U.S. registration of foreign owned/operated aircraft. Ms. Wade has been involved in numerous aircraft and helicopter transactions. She has negotiated the purchase and finance of Airbus Corporate Jets, Boeing Business Jets, Bombardier Global Express, Canadair Challengers, Dassault Falcons Embraer Legacys, Gulfstream and Galaxy Jets, Learjets, and King Airs She has also negotiated the acquisition/ sale of several Agusta, Sikorsky and Bell helicopters.
She has experience negotiating aircraft operating leases, leveraged leases and conventional secured financings. The aircraft financing structures she has negotiated include transactions with Wells Fargo Leasing Corporation, The Provident Bank, Bombardier Capital Inc., General Electric Capital Corporation, The CIT Group, Fleet National Bank and HSBC Bank USA.
Ms. Wade has written for The Kansas Banker, the Women Corporate Counsel Newsletter, Kansas CPA Newsletter, and Aviation for Women. She speaks on aviation issues at Women in Aviation International and the National Business Aviation Association. She has also provided materials for the NBAA Resourcing Options Workshop.
Ms. Wade is a member of Women in Corporate Aviation, Women in Aviation, International, American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and the National Business Aviation Association.
Ms. Wade received her B.S. with Distinction in Accounting & Business Administration in 1985 from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas and her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois in 1988.
